North Rice No.3 was warded as the second prize of the excellent taste rice in China

  The 7th Rice Development Forum was held in Tianjin from August 8 to 10, 2009, which was under the auspices of China North Rice Society and Technology Association and hosted by Tianjin Agriculture collage and Tokyo University. The theme of the forum was that to pave a road to high-yield rice development with the priority of good quality, to build a platform to promote national communication and cooperation of rice, to grasp the new trend of rice development and implement the health development of rice industry in China.
  On 7 August, China North Rice Society and Technology Association and Tianjin Sino-Japanese Rice Taste and Quality Research and cooperate center invited 23 Rice experts from home and aboard as judges to taste the quality of the 21 selected Rice for the whole day. It is ranked 3 first prizes, 7 second prices and 10 third prizes. North Rice No.3 cultivated by Da’an Sodic Land Ecology Experiment Station, NEIGAE won the second price of the excellent taste rice in China.
  The appraisal of tasty for Rice is of great significant for the research and development of excellent rice. However, how to define a excellent taste is still an urgent solution fronted the researchers and industrial sectors. In 2007, China North Rice Society and Technology Association organize experts to appraise 20 good taste rices within china and it receive a good results. But preview appraisal mainly focus on the Tetrafunctional taste and the appearance of the rice, it is hard to select really nice rice. This appraisal was adopted the Japanese method and greatly emphasize the nice tasty of rice and the quality and tasty is distinctive in a series of related terms.
  Therefore, it is necessary to hold a national wide competition of good taste rice, which helps to select the potential excellent good rice more efficiently and promote the development of good taste rice growing in China. It is also play an important role in the research, development and appraisal system of nice taste rice in China.
  Besides, this forum invited 8 experts carried out excellent academic reports on the following topic: A brief on Japanese rice taste and quality, Report on the better quality and high-yield rice; Research and application of accurate rice cultivation with rations; The identification and prevention of rice pest and diseases; Organic Viticulture of rice in China; The present condition of rice production and cultivation and the development of excellent taste rice in Jiangsu Province; the present condition of grain processing industrial; develop nice taste rice industry and fulfill the demand of the market. Zhang Guochen and Liang Zhengwei host the symposium respectively.
