Introduction
The impact of economic globalization and global change on human sustainable development has been more and more perceptible since the 21st century. Northeast Asia is one of the important regions affecting the sustainable development of the world because of richer natural resources, better environment condition and larger potential for economic development.
Due to historical and geopolitical reasons, the cooperation among Northeast Asia region is progressing at a quite slow speed. Problems such as gaps of regional economy, environment and social development closely related to each other within Northeast Asia. It is of vital importance to strengthen co-operations among countries and take effective measures to solve these problems. This conference will attract talents of relevant fields to discuss issues on resources, environment and sustainable development in Northeast Asia region, try to work out adaptable measures to these problems, promote the cooperation, prosperity and regional sustainable development in Northeast Asia.
Objective
The conference will provide a forum for researchers in the international community to exchange ideas on resources, environment, and sustainable development in Northeast Asia.
Topics：
Political and economic cooperation within Northeast Asia has continued to deepen and confront the same problems such as resources, environment and regional sustainable development. The major topics of the conference include:
Ø The trans-boundary protection and sustainable utilization of water resources, land resources, wetland, forest and wild animal;
Ø Environmental problems and adaptive management due to the land use and land cover change, water quality evolution and water pollution, industrialization and urbanization;
Ø The strategies for economy revitalization, urbanization and urban transition, modern agriculture and rural development.

Participants should log in the conference website to register before March 1, 2014.
Registration Fee
The fee of 100 dollars for participants in presence and 50 dollars for post graduate students should be paid in cash at the registration. The payment details will be indicated in the 2nd circular. Registration fee includes conference participation and materials.
Requirements for Papers
Papers should be copyrighted materials within 7 pages (A4 format), including figures, tables and references. Please use Times New Roman (12 point) with single space lines (Format RTF), page margins of 25 mm and paragraph break of 12.5 mm. References in the text are indicated with the reference number in square brackets. Title of the paper (bolded capitals), author’s name and affiliation are written followed by next line. The paper should contain abstracts not exceeding 700 characters.
Full-text papers should be emailed before March 1, 2014 as attached files to: nea_paper@iga.ac.cn.
Special Issue
The Academic Committee retains the right to deny applications and materials inconsistent with conference topics. Papers approved by the Academic Committee will be published in a volume of Conference Proceedings with a CD after the conference.
The academic committee will select some excellent papers to publish a special issue in CHINESE GEOGRAPHICAL SCIENCE, which is indexed in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E).
Field Scientific Expedition
Field scientific expedition to Changbai Mountain and Longwan wetland will be organized for conference participants. Detailed information will be announced in the second circular.
