China-Japan Workshop on Soybean Yield Physiology (WSYP’2013)), sponsored by Key Laboratory of Soybean Molecular Breeding, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Institute of Soil Tillage and Cultivation, Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, was held successfully on August 26-29, 2013, Harbin, China.
In the opening session of the workshop, Professor Xiaobing Liu, Deputy Director of Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, CAS, presented a welcome remark on behalf of the local organization committee. Then after, 18 invited scientists presented their keynote speeches in the whole day session. The speakers and titles of the invited speeches were as follows:

More than 100 professionals and graduate students from concerning departments, institutions and universities actively participated in the workshop and shared their experiences and knowledge on the theory and practices for soybean production with emphasis on soybean physiology and yield.
After the workshop, foreign scientists took a field tour and on-site production practice discussion, and visited Hailun Agroecogical Experiment Staion and Hailun Station for Water and Soil Conservation Monitoring and Research on Aug 28 -29.
The workshop has strengthened academic exchanges among scientists between China and Japan and will provide a science-oriented support for future soybean research.
