Egypt’s Agricultural Research Center (ARC) discussed expanding cooperation with a high-level delegation from China’s Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, focusing on climate-resilient crops and sustainable agriculture.

The talks, led by ARC Deputy Chief Saad Moussa, covered joint research in hybrid rice, drought-tolerant crops, soil and water studies, and remote sensing technologies.

The collaboration aims to boost Egypt’s food security and narrow gaps in strategic crops like rice, maize, and soybeans.

The Chinese delegation, headed by Dr. Ming Jiang, expressed interest in formalizing ties through a memorandum of understanding and invited ARC officials to visit China.

The Egyptian side emphasized commitment to strengthening scientific cooperation with China to support sustainable agricultural development.
