Geographical Society of Jilin Province was set up in 1958, affiliated with Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, CAS. It is a branch of Chinese Science and Technology Association, Jilin Science and Technology Association and Geographical Society of China. The society’s aims are as follows: link together the researcher and teachers in the fields of science and technology, education, culture, etc., to make successive progress in geography, prosper national science and culture, and promote the sustainable development of social economy. For a long period, the society has carried out a number of activities such as academic intercommunication, popular science propagandism, scientific and technological education, scientific and technological development, etc.
