Scientia Geographica Sinica is an academic journal, published in China from 1980. It is sponsored by Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology (the former Changchun Institute of Geography), Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Scientia Geographica Sinica aims to cover recent developments in geographical research and other related geographical issues in China, promote academic exchange between China and other countries, and develop geographical science. The journal mainly publishes research paper related to geography and its sub-disciplines, especially the paper concerned in regional and comprehensive issues. It lays stress on the research achievements supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key State Laboratory Foundation, International cooperative items and so on, and pays close attention to the great issues commonly concerned in the world, such as man-land relationship, population, resources, environment, energy, sea level rise, climatic change, and regional development. The journal provides regular columns for research papers, review articles, research reports, technical methods, academic activities and so on, which can be applied by the readers engaged in geographical research, geographical teaching and administration, and graduate students.

The journal is a comprehensive academic journal, an excellent geographical journal of China, a source journal of “Chinese Science Citation Database” and “Chinese Academic Journal Assessment Database”, and a full-text cited journal of “Chinese Journal Network” and “Chinese Academic Journal (CD)”
