Chinese Geographical Science is an international journal, published in China from 1991. It is sponsored by Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology (the former Changchun Institute of Geography), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and jointly published by Science Press of China and Springer of Germany. The Editorial Committee of the journal consists of international geographical scientists, academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, senior researchers from geographical institutes and famous professors from universities of China.
The journal has been abstracted/indexed in SCI-E, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, Abstracts Journal (Russia), Elsevier/Geo Abstract, Current Geographical Publications, CAB Abstracts, SCOPUS, Chinese Science Citation Database, Chinese Science and Technology Papers and Citation Database, and Chinese Carefully Chosen Database of Journal of Science & Technology.
Chinese Geographical Science aims to cover recent development in geographical research and related geographical issues in China and abroad, promote scientific exchange between China and other countries, and develop geographical science. The journal mainly publishes research articles related to physical geography and its sub-disciplines, human geography and its sub-disciplines, cartography, remote sensing, geographic information system and so on. It pays close attention to the great issues commonly concerned in the world, such as man-land relationship, population, resources, environment and regional development, and favorably receives the research achievements supported by various foundation items in China and foreign papers.
Chinese Geographical Science provides regular columns for research papers, review articles, research reports and academic activities, and is characterized by rich, new and original contents, full and accurate data, and vivid description. Its readers include geographical researchers, teachers, administrators and graduate students. The journal can help you to
keep abreast of current developments in geographical research in China and abroad;
understand the role of Chinese geography in national economic construction in China;
find out the changes related to geography taking place in the course of China’s reform and opening up to the outside world;
obtain Chinese geographical information for the study on global issues and regional comparison.
The journal publishes original research papers, review articles, research reports, academic activities, and so on. All papers are subject to peer review and are published online at www.SpringerLink.com.

Chinese Geographical Science Notes for Contributors
Chinese Geographical Science, sponsored by Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and jointly published by Science Press of China and Springer of German, is a comprehensive English geographical journal published quarterly in China from 1991. Aiming to cover recent development in geographical research and related geographical issues in China and abroad, promote scientific exchange between China and other countries, and develop geographical science, the journal mainly publishes research articles related to physical geography and its sub-disciplines, human geography and its sub-disciplines, cartography, remote sensing, geographic information system and so on. It pays close attention to the great issues commonly concerned in the world, such as man-land relationship, population, resources, environment and regional development, and favorably receives the research achievements supported by various foundation items in China and foreign papers.
Form of Submission
Language. English is the preferred language of the publication. Length. Manuscripts, including references, tables and figures, should not exceed 7 pages of text (in the size of A4 paper, with font of Times New Roman and font size of 12 pounds)
Title/abstract/keywords. The title should indicate clearly the nature of the subject. Please provide a short abstract of 250 to 300 words, which should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references, and three to five key words briefly summarizing the essential contents.
Affiliation of author(s). The author(s) and the full address of their institution(s) and postal code must be given under the title.
Foundation item/Biography. The foundation item, foundation number and the first author抯 biography (including name, birth year, sex, professional title or educational background, main research interests, and E-mail) should be given as a footnote in the first page.
Symbols and Units. The International System of Units (SI) should be used whenever possible. Other units may be given in parentheses when they first appear in the text.
Figures. Figure should be made by computer, with the help of the software of Coreldraw.
Tables. Each table should be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Table 2, etc.). In tables, footnotes are preferable to long explanatory material in either the heading or body of the table. Such explanatory footnotes, identified by superscript letters, should be placed immediately below the table. Please provide a caption (without abbreviations) to each table, refer to the table in the text and note its approximate location in the margin. Finally, please place the tables after the figure legends in the manuscript.
Cross-Referencing. In the text, a reference identified by means of an author's name should be followed by the date of the reference in parentheses where appropriate. When there are more than three authors, only the first author's name should he mentioned, followed by 'et al.'. In the event that an author cited has had two or more works published during the same year, the reference, both in the text and in the reference list, should be identified by a lower case letter like 'a' and 'b' after the date to distinguish the works.

Section Headings. Section headings should be numbered (e.g., 1., 1.1, 1.1.1, 2., 2.1, etc.).
Acknowledgements. Acknowledgements of people etc. should be placed in a separate section before the References.
